HOMELAND SECURITY

TOWER PROJECTS

Powers Roofing has worked on communication towers throughout the state of Maine from the Canadian border to the New Hampshire border. These projects included new EPDM roofs on existing communication buildings with 1 ¾” thick rubber pavers added on top for additional protection from ice and snow falling from the towers above. The rubber pavers are rated for wind speeds up to 150 mph and exceed the class four impact resisting testing, giving the product the highest rating in roofing protection. These off the grid locations are logistically complex as many of the sites are only accessible by helicopter. Coordination between other trades and the helicopter crew is imperative when working in these environments.  These projects have been a great fit for Powers Roofing because they require extensive planning and preparation, on site efficiency, flexibility and safety, all traits that they have excelled in over their years of commercial roofing.
